The Mediterranean Diet has been around since the 1960s and it's one of the MOST WIDELY studied nutritional plans. Years and years of research (sources at the bottom of this page) have indicated that it:
Participants who ate the Mediterranean diet (without counting calories) had a 30 percent lower risk of any negative heart events than the control group.
